Gauging interest.
Thinking along the lines of trying to live off the land as much as possible for maybe a couple nights?

Sounds like fun. When and where? I don't have a hunting license because killing animals doesn't excite me. So I would have to stay in camp and watch the gear. But I have 30 lbs of Tannerite, A gallon of Tequila, and a lust for shooting and camping. You hunting deer or pig? I love fresh meat...

Define "minimalist".
Whatever is on you on any given day? Grab your BOB and see if the stuff you've put in there really works as you think it would? Or just bring water, shelter and everything else is from the land? Seems intriguing, but I'd probably hang with D and chill. |

What I had in mind was a bug out bag test trip type of minimalist Would be good to see exactly what we need and dont need to bring if the need to bail ever arrived.

Holy necro post.
This is a good idea though. Do it in spring so you won't have to worry about packing for cold. Make it for something like a 20-30 mile walk over 3 days or so. You'll really appreciate your necessities and quickly forgo the luxury items. If you do it in a group, you can share the load.. Food, ammo, etc. Finding a place to do a walk like that might be a challenge given firearms and certain laws. I'd be up for it. |
